My Orthodoxy

Daniel Houseworth, who converted to Orthodoxy in our community on 11/24/2024, accepted the invitation to tell us about his experience on the path to the true faith. His courage is admirable because on this path he was forced to answer various questions about faith for himself. Compared to him, most of us were born into the true faith, accepting it as a lump sum, in a monolithic form, and always from the inside. From this perspective, many of the beauties and high mysteries of the Orthodox faith may have remained hidden from us. This conference therefore presents itself to us as a valuable opportunity to get to know our own faith better, now looking at it from the outside.

In addition, we are called to use our healthy judgement power given by God to continuosly enrich ourselves spiritually from the good in others, like Saint Anthony the Great. Not giving up on the true faith, but learning to make use of the good practices from other traditions. Daniel is ready to offer us an account of his accumulated experience, already transformed towards Orthodoxy at the call of God through the Holy Spirit.

On Sunday, December 22, after the Holy Liturgy, we invite each of you to bring some food, according to your possibility. So that after a short break, we will continue with the conference. In the first part, Daniel will speak to us based on a guide that we have already agreed together. In the second part, he will answer your questions. It would be preferable for those who wish to participate to speak English, but if necessary, we can spontaneously organize a translation into Romanian.
