Book Donation

On May 29, 2025, our Parish in Böblingen received a package of 15 Orthodox books in English from Christ the Saviour Parish in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA.

The person who arranged this gesture was Jason, an Orthodox American, who was a guest in our parish for 6 months in 2024.

The men's club of the Parish he is a part of in the United States organizes community meals every Sunday during Lent. The donations that are collected, they use to support various charitable causes around the world. On April 21, 2025, Jason proposed to use the donations collected in 2025 for our Parish in Landkreis Böblingen.

Considering that our parish still has American guests, we decided that the best help is in the form of Orthodox books in English. We have selected a list of books that they purchased in the United States for us. With Daniel's help, we organized the transfer of the package to Germany.

On 29.05.2025, we presented these books in the church after the sermon, reading the message that Jason prepared for us. He expresses his gratitude for the love with which we received him in our Parish while he lived in Germany.

We thank Jason and the Orthodox community of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for their love. We also thank Daniel who helped us with the transport of these books.

All books are accessible to all who wish in the parish library. The list of these can also be consulted in the index of our parish library, being listed on 31.05.2025.

We hope that these books will mediate access to Orthodoxy for English speakers who visit us. They are also an open invitation to Romanians in our community to get to know Orthodoxy from a perspective full of enthusiasm and freshness.
